Darlington shoppers planning a last-minute barbecue, family get-together or Bank Holiday food are being urged to check opening times before heading out this weekend.
Several of the town’s largest supermarkets will operate different hours over the August Bank Holiday, meaning customers could face earlier closing times than usual.
With thousands expected to visit stores across Morton Park, Yarm Road, North Road and Victoria Road over the long weekend, retailers are warning that opening hours may vary between branches.

Tesco
Tesco customers are being advised to check individual store opening hours, as times will vary depending on location and size.
Larger stores and large Express Stores are expected to be open from 8am to 6pm, with smaller express stores maintaining their normal hours.

Although supermarkets have released guidance for the Bank Holiday weekend, individual branches can change opening times at short notice.
Motorists heading to Morton Park, Yarm Road or Victoria Road are also likely to encounter busier car parks than normal as shoppers stock up for the final long weekend of the summer.
