Rocky Horror Picture Show star and legendary actor Tim Curry has died at the age of 80.
Curry, who hails from Warrington, passed away late Tuesday night (August 25) at his home in Los Angeles, according to reports.
"Police responded to his house at 11:23 PM Tuesday night," TMZ reported.
"We're told there is no foul play suspected in the case."
Curry was best known for his iconic role as Dr Frank-N-Furter in The Rocky Horror Picture Show and built a celebrated career across stage, film, and television.
Rotten Tomatoes posted on X (formerly Twitter): "Tim Curry, best known for his roles in 'The Rocky Horror Picture Show,' 'Clue,' and 'IT' has sadly passed away.
"Rest in peace."
Curry first played Dr Frank-N-Furter in the original London stage production of The Rocky Horror Show before reprising the role in the 1975 film adaptation, which became a cult classic.
His film credits include Clue, Legend, Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, and Muppet Treasure Island.
On television, he gained further fame as Pennywise in the 1990 miniseries adaptation of Stephen King’s It.
Curry also enjoyed a prolific voice-acting career, earning a Daytime Emmy for his role as Captain Hook in Peter Pan & the Pirates.
He also voiced Nigel Thornberry in the animated series The Wild Thornberrys.
