An exit slip road near Bradford was closed after a large amount of offal was spilled across the carriageway this morning.
The exit slip road from the M62 westbound at Junction 26, M606 Junction 1 (Chain Bar), remains shut.
The incident was reported at 4.33am and the clean-up operation is continuing through the morning rush.
The closure affected traffic heading towards Chain Bar and M606 Junction.
Drivers were warned of delays on the approach during the peak travel period on the route.
National Highways said: "The road remains closed as the offal spillage continues to be cleared.
"It's expected to remain closed during the morning peak travel period.
Delays of 10 minutes on the approach, with one mile of congestion."
An traffic alert earlier this morning reported: "Exit ramp closed and queueing traffic due to shed load of offal on M62 westbound at Junction 26 M606 Junction 1 (Chain Bar).
"Traffic has been released and exit slip road remains closed."
