AN inquest has opened into the death of a man who died in a crash on a major Bradford road.
Mohammed Nadeem, 51, was a passenger in a silver Toyota Auris that was involved in a collision with a grey BMW 320D on Wakefield Road, between the junctions of Fenby Avenue and Sheridan Street, on July 9.
He later died in hospital on August 11.
What happened in the inquest opening?
On Tuesday, Bradford Coroner's Court heard how Mr Nadeem, a married man who worked as a chef and was born on September 24, 1974, was taken to Leeds General Infirmary after suffering multi traumatic injuries but sadly died at 10.55am on August 11.
A post-mortem examination later found the cause of death to be head and chest injuries sustained in a road traffic collision.
The inquest into his death has been suspended until February 25, 2027, to allow for further investigations.

What police said at the time
Earlier this month, a spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: "Police investigating a road traffic collision in Bradford have released a further appeal for information and footage after one of the injured parties passed away in hospital.
"Mohammed Nadeem, who was 51, was a passenger in a silver Toyota Auris which was in collision with a grey BMW 320D in Wakefield Road between the junctions of Fenby Avenue and Sheridan Street on Thursday, July 9.
"Mohammed suffered serious injuries in the collision and died in hospital on Tuesday, August 11."
The driver of the Toyota, a 56-year-old man, and another passenger, an 18-year-old man, were also injured in the crash but their injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.
On the day, Wakefield Road remained closed as investigators examined the scene and cleared debris.
Drivers were advised to avoid the area due to significant delays and disruption to traffic.
Four men arrested
At the time of the crash, four men who were in the BMW - aged 18, 19, 20, and 20 - were arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
They were then released on bail.
West Yorkshire Police told the Telegraph & Argus on Tuesday that this still remains the case.
