Only a handful of tickets remain for a new County Durham music festival featuring Marti Pellow and Gabrielle.

Opulence, a two-day festival taking place at Lumley Castle Hotel in Chester-le-Street, will run from September 4 to 5 and is the first event of its kind in the castle’s 600-year history.

The opening night will feature headline performances from Marti Pellow and Gabrielle, with support from North East acts including Smoove and Turrell, Soulutions, and Kate Bond.

Daz Flatman of ATA Events, organisers of the festival, said: "Since the day we announced Opulence and Live at Lumley, there was a huge amount of interest, with many of the VIP and VVIP packages selling out almost immediately."

Day two will focus on house music, with Groove Armada headlining.

Two stages will be set up in the castle grounds, each showcasing a different line-up and atmosphere.

The Lawn Stage will feature top DJs including Sam Divine, Eat Everything, Danny Howard, PBR Street Gang, Richard Tulip, The Hutchinson Bros, and Mr Flatman himself.

Beyond the music, the festival will include stilt walkers, fire breathers, jugglers, hair braiding and glitter face painting, alongside a variety of food and drink options.

A post-event party will be held on September 5, running until 2am.

General tickets start from £52.50 per day and are available at www.opulence-events.com.
