World-famous Black Dyke Band to return to North Yorkshire venue

One of the world's most celebrated brass bands is set to return to a North Yorkshire auctioneer's venue after attracting a sell-out audience during its previous visit.

The Black Dyke Band will perform at The Garden Rooms at Tennants in Leyburn on Saturday, March 20, 2027, following a sold-out debut at the same venue in 2023.

With a history dating back to 1855, the band is recognised globally for its musical excellence and has captivated audiences for more than 170 years.

John O’Brien, secretary of the Black Dyke Band, said: "The world's most famous brass band, Black Dyke is delighted to make a return visit to the the Garden Rooms at Tennants.

"The only brass band to have a No 1 album in the official Classical Music chart, the only brass band to have appeared on the Pyramid stage at Glastonbury and is also a highlight of the 2026 BBC Promenade Concerts at the Royal Albert Hall, the pedigree of Black Dyke is unparalleled."

The band has released more than 350 recordings and continues to tour internationally, maintaining its reputation as a must-see ensemble in the brass band world.

The performance will feature a mix of traditional repertoire and contemporary pieces, showcasing the band’s versatility and musicianship.

Their return to Leyburn offers a rare chance for North Yorkshire audiences to enjoy a live performance in the intimate setting of The Garden Rooms, a venue known for its broad programme of cultural events.
