A County Durham motorist has been banned from driving for six months after failing to identify who was behind the wheel of a vehicle linked to an alleged offence.
John Thomas Howard, 31, of Redworth Road, Shildon, was found guilty in absence at Peterlee Magistrates’ Court on August 6.
The court heard that on December 30, 2025, in Spennymoor, Howard failed to provide information when asked by Durham Constabulary about who was driving an Isuzu vehicle that was allegedly involved in an offence.

Due to repeat offending, Howard was disqualified from driving for six months. His driving record was endorsed with six penalty points.
Howard was fined £660, ordered to pay a £264 victim services surcharge and £130 in court costs.
A collection order was made.
