A MAN has been identified following the alleged assault of a police officer in York.
The incident took place at around 6.20pm on Saturday, August 22, on Scarcroft Hill, shortly after the conclusion of the Ebor Festival at York Racecourse.
North Yorkshire Police said the officer was pushed during an arrest, causing them to stumble and fall to the ground.
On Monday evening (August 24), the force published an image of a man with a statement saying he may have information that could assist its investigation.
This morning, North Yorkshire Police said the man has been identified.
