A new wheelchair friendly bench has been installed by a Ryedale council.
Norton on Derwent town council has placed the bench on the Riverside Walk between Norton and Malton.
As part of a programme of works to improve the path between the two towns, a new seating area has been laid to hold the new bench.

Other improvements include relaying some of the paving slabs in the path that have been lifted by repeated flooding in the area.
The works have been carried out by AG Gardening & Landscaping from Pickering.
Cllr Di Keal, Mayor of Norton on Derwent said: “The Riverside Walk is an important and much used pedestrian route between Norton and Malton and the town council is keen to see it maintained and enhanced for residents, many of whom enjoy sitting on the benches near the river.
“It is very much a ‘work in progress’ at the moment as we need to install life belts, improve the lighting columns and cut back the riverbank to allow better views of the River Derwent, but the wheel-chair friendly bench is a great addition to the area and we hope wheelchair users enjoy using it.
“In the coming months we will be tackling the other tasks that need carrying out in the area to make the area into a park that everyone can enjoy, whether they want to sit for a while, enjoy a picnic or are just passing through.”
