Motorcyclist dies in crash on major Yorkshire road

A motorcyclist has died following a crash on the A1246 near Selby, with police now investigating the circumstances.

At around 3:10pm on Sunday (Aug 23), police responded to reports of a crash near Selby.

The crash involved a motorcycle, and occurred on the A1246, at the junction with Holyrood Lane.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have said his family are being supported by specially trained officers, and “have requested privacy at this difficult time”.

Police have launched an appeal for any witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said: “Officers want to hear from anyone who witnessed a Honda CBR 1000 motorcycle prior to the collision, or who may have relevant dashcam, CCTV or other footage from the area.
