A CITY centre road in York is closed for water main works.
City of York Council said Newgate, which connects King's Square and Silver Street across the northern junction of Shambles, will be shut to vehicles between Silver Street and the boundary of 13 Newgate until 5pm on Friday, August 28.
The closure is to allow the works to be carried out safely.
Traffic signs and barriers will be in place to indicate the extent of the closure.
There will be no signed diversion route for vehicles.
Access for residents, emergency services, and pedestrians will be maintained throughout the works period.
