Person trapped in York village crash - emergency crews called to the scene

EMERGENCY services have been at the scene of a crash in a York village where someone was trapped in a car.

North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said crews from Tadcaster and Huntington were called to College Road in Copmanthorpe around 10.05pm yesterday (Monday, August 24).

No other vehicles were said to be involved in the crash.

The person trapped was taken to hospital after being released from the car.

A service spokesperson said: "Crews used casualty long board, cutters and spreaders, reciprocating saws, sharps protection kit, lighting and stabilisation equipment to extricate casualty.

"The casualty was left in the hands of paramedics on the scene and taken to hospital via road ambulance.

"The car was left in the hands of the police for recovery."
