This is why Rougier Street in the centre of York is now closed to traffic.
As we reported yesterday, the road is shut for today and most of tomorrow to allow for a crane to do its work.
It’s there to winch into place the large infrastructure for a new hotel being built on Rougier Street.

The road is shut between its junctions with Station Road and Tanner Row.
Diversions are in place during the closure, which runs till 6pm tomorrow (Wednesday, 26 August).
Now that the old Northern House building on Rougier Street has been torn down, construction work on the 140-room Dakota Hotel is beginning.
The plans were approved last September. Construction was allowed on condition that archaeological monitoring took place.
This followed Historic England raising concerns about the impact of the new building on potentially significant Roman archaeological remains.
