Police have been called in following a fire in York today (Tuesday).
Fire crews were called to the incident in Acomb Wood at2.20pm.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Acomb responded to a fire to some woodland close to a residential area.

“The fire measured 4 by 4 metres and was extinguished using a hose reel jet.
“The cause of the fire is believed deliberate.”
North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service routinely informs police of all fires thought to have been started deliberately.
