POLICE have issued a statement on why they cordoned off the grounds of a Bradford church.
Officers were seen at St Peter's Catholic Church on Leeds Road on Tuesday lunchtime.
When the Telegraph & Argus visited the scene, a police van was parked outside.
Police investigation
West Yorkshire Police says it is investigating a reported rape.
The force received a call in the early hours of Tuesday morning reporting the offence.
The victim had left the scene when officers attended the location the call was made from.
Officers have been conducting enquires in the city all day, including inside the church grounds.

A spokesperson for the force said: "Police received a call in the early hours of this morning by a caller reporting being the victim of a rape offence in Bradford.
"When officers attended the location call had been made from, the victim had left the scene.
"Work has been ongoing to locate her and officers have been conducting enquires in the city today, including in the church grounds, as part of an ongoing investigation to determine the circumstances of what has taken place."
