THE Met Office has issued a yellow thunderstorm warning for West Yorkshire.
The warning is in place from 6am to 10pm on Thursday, August 27.
Thunderstorms and heavy rain are expected to move north across England and Wales, potentially becoming slow-moving in the afternoon and evening.
Rainfall accumulations of 20-30mm in three hours are expected widely, with up to 50mm in a 12-hour period in some areas.
There is a small chance that some places may see more than 50mm in three hours and more than 75mm through 12 hours, especially over east-facing high ground.
Lightning and hail of 1-2cm will also be hazards.
The Met Office has warned that the weather could cause some disruption, including the possibility of flooding to homes and businesses, delays and cancellations to train and bus services, and difficult driving conditions.
There is also a slight chance of power cuts and a small chance of some communities becoming cut off by flooded roads.
