Plans have been drawn up for the conversion of an industrial site at Victoria Road in Guiseley.
Leeds City Council has been asked to approve a full planning application for the scheme.
A design report by Stack Architects Ltd said: “The facility is intended to serve local residents and promote health, fitness, discipline and positive community engagement.
“The proposed use is a boxing and fitness club operating primarily as a coaching and training facility.”
The report said the new facility would be operated as a Community Interest Company (CIC).
Trainers and coaches at the club would be registered with the British Boxing Board of Control.
One-to-one training sessions and group boxing and fitness classes would be offered at the premises.
The report said: “The proposed conversion improves and secures the continued beneficial use of the property, enhances and tidies up the local environment, and encourages economic and community benefits.
“The facility will be operated by qualified coaches and support staff of volunteers.
“Typical class sizes will be a maximum of approximately 20 attendees per session.”
A full planning application is out for consultation until September 7.
