A CARE home summer fete raised £1,000 to fund days out and trips for its residents, with part of the money donated to charity.
The annual event took place at Herncliffe Care Home in Keighley on Saturday, August 22.
It was held from 1pm-4pm and was open to residents, family members and the wider public.

Attendees were treated to a variety of stalls, games and live music.

His daughter, Ruth Thompson, said: "Dad’s sold a tableful of work already."
Mr Hardman has Parkinson's disease.
He said: "I’m 75 now and I’ve been painting since I was 4."

Another resident, Mick Smith, praised the atmosphere and the dedication of the care team.
He said: "It’s brought a lot of carers out who are on their day off.
"They work long hours, so good on them for coming out."

Staff volunteered at the event
Helen McAskill, manager at the care home, highlighted the importance of community events for residents.
She said: "It’s so great for residents to get out.
"We have a good workforce and the support of the local community."
Funds raised from the summer fete will go towards the home’s activity team, supporting day trips and special outings for residents.
Julie Domaill, a nurse at Herncliffe who ran the cake stall, said: "People have got dementia, but the music has got them up and dancing."
Herncliffe was taken over earlier this year
Herncliffe was taken over by Summit Care Group in June.
Jacqui Ritchie, chief operating officer at Summit Care Group, said: "You can feel the love when you walk round the building.
"We are still keeping the same heart of Herncliffe."
