A teenage boy died when a motorbike and a car crashed in the North East.
The collision happened at around 6.40pm on Monday, August 24, on the A196 near Stobhill in Morpeth, Northumberland, opposite the junction with Bowyer Way.
It involved a black Yamaha motorcycle and a grey Volkswagen Polo, both travelling northeast away from Morpeth.
A 16-year-old boy who was on the motorcycle died at the scene.
And a 24-year-old man, also on the Yamaha, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Their next of kin have been informed and are being supported by police.
The driver of the Volkswagen, a woman in her 40s, stayed at the scene and is assisting officers with their enquiries.
Sergeant Steven Chappell, of Northumbria Police’s Roads Policing Unit, said: "Our thoughts are firmly with the family of the two people who have been injured or died in this incident – and we’ll provide them with whatever support they need.
"We are carrying out a full investigation into the circumstances of the collision and have already undertaken several enquiries.
"I would ask anyone with information which could assist us to get in touch.
"We are particularly keen to hear from those who may have seen or have footage of the events leading up to the collision."
Officers are appealing for witnesses and are especially interested in hearing from anyone with CCTV, dashcam, or doorbell footage from the area.
