A Bishop Auckland beauty salon has been severely damaged after a vehicle crashed into the building in the early hours of the morning.
Police were called at 12.50am yesterday (Monday, August 24), following reports that a vehicle had reversed into The Brow Lounge on Newgate Street.
The incident caused structural damage to the building, with pictures showing smashed windows and a badly damaged shop front.

Barriers have been erected outside the salon and part of the pavement has been closed to pedestrians.
Durham Constabulary has since launched an investigation into the incident and has asked anyone with information to get in touch.
The Brow Lounge has now confirmed it will temporarily operate from a space upstairs at Saks in Bishop Auckland while repairs are carried out.

In a post on Facebook, the business said: "Hi everyone, as you’ve probably seen, we’ve had an incident at the salon in the early hours this morning.
"We have got a temporary salon space upstairs in Bishop Auckland Saks and will be working from there while repairs are carried out.
"Sian will be in contact with her temporary location within the next few days. Some appointments will be affected. However, we will be in contact with all clients affected as soon as possible.
"Our messages have been flooded with so much love and compassion, we just ask that you bear with us while we get everything up and running and we will see you all very soon.
"We are all truly heartbroken that we’re in this situation. However, we’re a strong team and won’t let anything stop us from moving forward.
"We will see you all very soon at our new temporary location at Saks, which is just down from The Brow Lounge.
