A kitchen retailer has opened a new showroom in the heart of Harrogate town centre.

Magnet has unveiled its latest branch on Albert Street, replacing its previous location at Plantation House on Skipton Road.

Councillor Viv Poskitt, Mayor of Harrogate, officially opened the store this morning (Tue) at 9am, alongside Magnet’s CEO Sophie Rose and Store Operations Director James Cheetham.

Ms Rose said: "This is a proud moment for the whole team and I’d like to thank everyone who’s worked so hard to get the store ready for opening today.

"As a business founded in Yorkshire over a hundred years ago, it’s great to be continuing the Magnet story here in Harrogate, so close to where it all began.

"Harrogate is also another great example of our smaller store format, giving customers a more personal and intimate design experience while working strongly for us as a business too."

The 2,260 sq ft showroom is the company’s 10th small-format store in the UK, designed to offer a more personalised kitchen-buying experience.

It features some of Magnet’s most popular ranges, including Ambleside Oak & Meadow, Bewdley in Morello & Chalk Blush, and a working kitchen display in Soho & Reed.

The store is led by manager Michael Higgins and a team of three.

Magnet was founded in Bingley in 1918 and continues to operate from its headquarters and manufacturing site in Darlington.

To celebrate the launch, Magnet will host a special customer event on Saturday, September 5, focused on one of Yorkshire’s favourite traditions—a proper cup of tea.

The company has created "The Perfect Brew Kitchen," featuring a dedicated tea nook.

Harrogate tea business True Tea will be on hand to offer tastings and help settle the age-old debate: milk first or last?

Visitors can cast their vote in The Great Brew Debate and enter a prize draw to win a fully stocked Perfect Brew Pantry, worth £400.

Those who share their experience on social media will have a chance to win a year’s supply of tea from True Tea.

NEFF will also host live cooking demonstrations using its oven featured on The Great British Bake Off.

Magnet will give away five Quooker boiling water taps, valued at £1,000 each, to the first five qualifying kitchen orders.

Throughout September, customers who book a design appointment and proceed with a kitchen order will be entered into a draw to win a new Butler Pantry or £1,500 off their purchase.

The Harrogate showroom is open Monday to Saturday from 9am to 6pm and Sundays from 10am to 4pm.
