A couple has been fined following repeated complaints about excessive noise from their barking dogs.
Mark Steeksma and Emma Bennett, from Molescroft in Beverley, were found guilty in their absence at Beverley Magistrates Court on Wednesday, August 19, of breaching a Community Protection Notice.
Community Protection Notices were served to the pair in July 2025, following complaints from nearby residents.
Despite warnings and Fixed Penalty Notices, the noise persisted, leading to further action by East Riding of Yorkshire Council.
Councillor Lyn Healing, cabinet member for housing and public protection at East Riding of Yorkshire Council, said: "We are committed to maintaining our region as a good place to live, and taking robust action against antisocial behaviour.
"The council will use all available options in its attempts to resolve issues and improve lives for residents."
Multiple monitoring visits confirmed ongoing breaches, resulting in prosecution.
Both defendants were ordered to pay £1,649 each, including a £660 fine, £725 in costs, and a £264 victim surcharge.
