The global financial crisis was sparked by infidelities within the US markets. The UK Government under PM Gordon Brown, successfully prevented the meltdown of our whole economy.

2010 and advantage the elite public school establishment. PM David Cameron proclaims austerity. His deputy, Nick Clegg, abolishes plastic carrier bags and concessionary charges for university students with low family incomes. Thousands are subjected to the capability of work capacity testing and have their only incomes suspended or sanctioned.

After being re-elected with a single party majority PM Cameron in 2014 demonstrates his political nous in acceding to a referendum to determine the Government of Scotland.

A political gambler. PM Cameron narrowly wins. His heart he says would be broken along with the union if it were lost.

2016 and another Referendum, this time on whether to Remain or Leave the European Union, an embedded, reliable bedrock of the UK economy, in spite of any sub-cultural, democratic negotiations on deals. This time, PM Cameron does not sense the popular mood. He gambles in confidence and he loses. We've all been worse off for that.

PM Cameron resigns and PM Theresa May is left to face the turmoil. PM May is a Remainer, but accedes to the sovereign democratic will of the UK electorate. We leave the European Union.

In the shadows is another, among other political chancers, a rival from Eton public schooldays, Boris Johnson.

He'd been committed to the UK being part of the EU, but sensed a chance for his moment of power. He jumped horses, mid-race, as a Leave the EU jockey and won.

PM Johnson was overtaken by the Covid 19 Pandemic, We all were by a collective trauma never experienced before.

Nevertheless PM Johnson, as his hero and previous PM Sir Winston Churchill, stood his ground, against all odds and partied on for the best interests of us all. Of course.

It's us, ‘the plebs’ who ultimately decide with our votes who should govern us, and we'd better take our time, consider and wise up.
