ROSSE Street in Bradford is set to close for gas works.
A section of the street from its junction with Thornton Road for approximately 100 metres in a southerly direction will be shut to traffic.
Vehicles involved in the works, however, are exempt.
Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout.
The City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council has announced alternative routes for affected vehicles.
These include the unaffected section of Rosse Street, Syedna Way, Ingleby Road, and Thornton Road.
The closure will begin today, August 24, at 08:00. The closure will remain in force until 23:55 on August 28, 2026.
However, the closure could remain in place for up to 18 months if necessary.
The council has made the order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, section 14, due to gas works being carried out on or near the street.
The Council's Director of Legal and Governance issued the notice on August 20, 2026.
