A Teesside holiday club has spoken out after its "disappointing" Ofsted inspection.
Inspectors identified that while children love the club, it needs to improve procedures around health, safety and inclusion.
The Ofsted inspection, carried out on Monday, August 10, at Wynyard Holiday Club in Billingham, raised concerns around allergy management, mealtime supervision and staff training.
The report also recommended improvements in the amount of information the club gathers about children's individual needs.
Plus, it was recognised that improvements are needed for staff training, following its recent expansion to include services for younger children.
Inspectors found staff did not have allergy action plans or risk assessments in place for some children and said leaders had not collected all the relevant health information before start dates.
The report also identified issues at mealtimes, with younger children not always being supervised effectively while eating and hygiene standards not being up to scratch.
Families of children who were new to the nursery were not routinely asked to provide details of other professionals involved with their children, including whether they were known to social services.
The club has been told it needs to introduce health, care and allergy plans, improve mealtime supervision, gather more detailed information and provide additional training for staff working with young children.
A spokesperson for Wynyard Holiday Club said they were disappointed by the outcome but stressed the report should be viewed in full.
They said: "Naturally, we were disappointed to receive three 'needs attention' judgements following our recent Ofsted inspection.
"But most importantly, Ofsted confirmed that Wynyard Holiday Club's safeguarding standards are met."
The spokesperson claims the issues raised related largely to procedures and documentation following the club's recent expansion to include younger children.
They added that the required improvements highlighted by Ofsted have already been implemented across all of the areas.

Despite needing improvement, inspectors did find that children were benefiting from clear behavioural expectations and had access to a wide range of activities.
Parents have reported that their children "thoroughly enjoy attending" the club.
Staff were also described as "kind, caring and responsive", while children reported feeling secure and excited to spend time with them.
Inspectors also praised the support given to children with additional needs, including one-to-one help and adjustments to make sure they could take part in activities with the other children.
The spokesperson for Wynyard Holiday Park added: "Their safety, happiness and wellbeing will always be our absolute priority, and we are very proud of the positive experiences of children that are reflected throughout Ofsted's report."
