New track by award-winning Harrogate music producer has been 'going down really well in DJ sets'

An award-winning Harrogate music producer/DJ, author and filmmaker’s new single has won airplay on BBC 6 Music in its first week.

Rory Hoy’s Feel Better, which has been released on Groove People Records, got a spin on national radio from the always-supportive Craig Charles.

Fresh from appearing at the weekend at Picnic in the Park with DJ Trev as part of Feva Festival in Knaresborough, Rory says he is delighted by the reception for his new track.

“Feel Better is a funky disco house track celebrating of the power of friendship,” he said.

"This one has been going down really well in my DJ sets recently.

Harrogate’s hardest-working man in dance music has seen him producing eight critically acclaimed albums and numerous EPs, singles, remixes and collaborations with other major artists worldwide on a variety of worldwide labels.

Last summer saw him hit number one in the New Hype Dance/Pop Chart on Beatport with infectious funky house track 1 That I Want and then top the Juno Download Soul Charts with Take All Your Lovin’ And Run, a collaboration with singer Sarah Collins and his dad Tom Hoy.

In 2018, Rory wrote The Little Big Beat Book after interviewing 120 major acts of the 1990s Dance Scene, including Fatboy Slim and The Prodigy.

It went on to top the Amazon Dance Music Book Charts.

Rory is to perform at a Silent Disco at Ripon Cathedral on Friday, October 23.
