POLICE have launched an appeal following a "burglary" in a village outside York.
North Yorkshire Police said "the incident occurred at approximately 3pm on Saturday, July 4 in Main Street, Escrick."
The force issued a public statement on Monday morning (August 24) which described the incident as a "burglary".
The force issued a picture of a woman who they have asked to contact police directly.
A force spokesperson said: "We are appealing for help to identify a woman who may be able to assist with enquiries following a burglary in Escrick.
"While nothing was taken from the property, officers are keen to identify and speak to the woman pictured as part of their ongoing enquiries.
"Do you recognise her? If so, please get in touch.
"We are also asking the woman herself to contact police."
