A warning has been issued to shoppers after a weighted stuffed toy has been flagged as a serious risk of suffocation.
The Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) put an alert on the Snugly Weighted Stuffed Toy following concerns it could restrict breathing or movement if placed on young children.
The stuffed toy provides deep pressure therapy, similar to weighted blankets, and is designed to be hugged for stress relief.
However, concerns have been raised by the OPSS that the toy could pose a serious risk for young children.
Shoppers are being advised to keep the toy away from young children.

Warning to shoppers as stuffed toy has serious risk of suffocation
The affected product is related to the Snugly Weighted Stuffed Toy with the barcode 6941262828435.
The toy is described by OPSS as a "1kg/2.2lb weighted stuffed toy weighted with glass beads.
"The product is described as a therapy tool for adults."
Alerting shoppers to the toy's risk, the OPSS explains, "The product presents a risk of suffocation.
"The product is a weighted item that may be placed in close contact with the user’s face and body.
"Due to its weight, it may restrict breathing or movement for young children, increasing the risk of suffocation.
"Whilst the product is marketed as for use by adults, marketing images demonstrate use by children.
"Additionally, markings and warnings, including safety information, were not available in English.
"The product does not meet the requirements of the Toys (Safety) Regulations 2011."
Consumers are being advised to ensure the affected products are kept out of reach of children.
Snugly does offer advice to parents on its website regarding whether the toy is safe for children.
