Emergency services came to the aid of someone in the river in York early this morning (Sunday).
A crew from York Fire Station were called out at 12.45am.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “The crew from York assisted a person who had fallen into the river.
“On arrival of crews the person had managed to get back to a stone step but could not get themselves out of the water.
“The crew used a triple extension ladder to help them out and left in care of paramedics.”
