Police have confirmed the names of five people who died in the devastating A66 crash in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Cleveland Police released the names of all five people who were in the Volkswagen Passat, which was travelling in the wrong direction on the A66 when it collided with a marked police vehicle. Both police officers also died at the scene.
The names are Michael Robert Cahill, 23, Theo Rae, 17, Cole Robert Worthy, 17, Jacob Matusiak, 23, Makai Saddington, 18.

The two police officers in the other car involved in the collision were named yesterday as Pc Matthew Blades, 37, and Pc Tom Clough, 38.
Family Liaison Officers are continuing to work with the families all of those who lost their lives in the collision.
The crash happened on the A66 in South Bank at 3.39am yesterday (Saturday, August 22) and involved a marked police vehicle and a Volkswagen Passat.

Cleveland Police said the Passat was travelling in the wrong direction when it collided with the police car, which was travelling in the correct direction.

All seven occupants of the vehicles – two police officers and five members of the public – were pronounced dead at the scene.
Members of the public have started to leave floral tributes and balloons at the crash site for those who lost their lives.
There is a cordon in place at the scene and the road remains closed.
The IOPC has launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
