A North Yorkshire motorist has been fined and given three penalty points after admitting a speeding offence committed on a County Durham road.
Thomas Alderson, 54, of Palms Hall Bungalow, Lovesome Hill, Northallerton, was caught exceeding the 30 mph speed limit on the C36 road in Durham on September 6, 2025, while driving a Toyota vehicle.
The speed was determined using manned equipment.
Alderson appeared at Peterlee Magistrates' Court on August 20, where he pleaded guilty to the offence.

The court imposed a £72 fine and ordered Alderson to pay a £28 victim services surcharge. No order for costs was made by magistrates.
Alderson's driving record was endorsed with three penalty points.
A collection order was issued for the payment of the fine. The withdrawal of a related charge was also recorded.
