What is the Public Notice Portal?

Search the Public Notice Portal Motorists are being advised of overnight road closures as resurfacing work is carried out on a key route near Durham.
The closure affects a 430-metre length of the A690, between its junctions with side No. 9, John Street South, Meadowfield, and the access to St Patrick's Primary School, Langley Moor, along with a 55-metre length of St Johns Road, extending south-east from the A690.
The work is set to begin on August 22 and is expected to last seven nights, with the road closed between 8pm and 6am.
The road will be closed to all traffic during these times, with only emergency service vehicles allowed access.
The closure is necessary to allow for resurfacing work to be carried out.

An order for the closure was made on August 14. An alternative route will be available for drivers.
This will take them from the south-western side of the closure, along the A690 to the junction with the B6300.
From there, drivers will head south-east on the B6300 to the A167, then north on the A167 to Nevilles Cross, before turning south-west on the A690 to the north-eastern side of the closure, and vice versa.
