City of York Council has announced restrictions under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The measures cover 13 locations and will apply when works are underway, or until they finish.

Mill Lane, Heworth, will close between Heworth Green and East Parade for water mains works from 8am on August 24 until 5pm on August 28.

A diversion will run via Heworth Green, Heworth Road, East Parade, Eboracum Way, Layerthorpe and Hawthorn Grove.

Access for residents and emergency vehicles will remain available.

Farmers Way, Copmanthorpe, will close between Wheelwright Close and Sawyers Crescent for telecoms works from 9.30am on August 24 until 3.30pm on August 26.

The road is expected to be closed during those hours each day.

A diversion will run via Farmers Way and Flaxman Croft.

Markham Street, York, will close between Eldon Street and the projected eastern boundary of property number 37 for gas mains works from 8am on August 24 until 5pm on August 30.

The closure is expected between 8am and 5pm each day. Traffic will be diverted via Haxby Road, Lowther Street and Eldon Street.

The one-way restriction on Markham Street will be suspended during the closure, allowing two-way traffic.

On-street parking places in specified sections will also be suspended. Resident and emergency access can be arranged with traffic management staff.

Moor Lane, Bishopthorpe, will close between Moor Lane Drive and the projected eastern boundary of property number 4 for telecoms works from 8.30am on August 24 until 4pm on August 26.

No diversion will be signed, but resident and emergency access will be maintained.

Ashville Street, York, will close between Huntington Road and the projected western boundary of property number 40 for water mains works from 9.30am on August 26 until 4pm on August 28.

No diversion will be signed, and access for residents and emergency vehicles will remain available.

Landing Lane, York, will close between Water End and the RSPCA entrance for water mains works from 8am on August 24 until 5pm on October 5.

No diversion will be signed.

Access to the RSPCA and Yorkshire Water substation will be maintained from the south-west junction of Landing Lane.

Pedestrian restrictions will continue on three public rights of way from 12.01am on August 29.

The closures concern PROW 55/2/10 between North Street Gardens and Ouse Bridge, and rights of way 28/7/10 in Osbaldwick and 11/10/10 in Skelton.

The restrictions are due to structural defects and will continue until February 2028, or until the danger has ended.

No pedestrian diversions will be signed.

A back lane beside Claremont Terrace and Union Terrace Car Park will remain closed to vehicles from 12.01am on August 29 until 11.59pm on October 2 for structural wall repairs.

Pedestrian access to the back lane will remain available. Blue badge and Car Club parking will not be affected.

Back Lane, Wigginton, will close from 9am on August 1 until 4pm on September 2 for highway maintenance.

A diversion will run via Greenshaw Drive, Westfield Lane, The Village and Church Lane.

The A64 between Askham Fields junction and Buckles Inn will close from 8pm on September 1 until 5am on September 2 for resurfacing.

Traffic will be diverted via the A64 and A1036 Tadcaster Road.

Naburn Lane, Wheldrake, will close from 8am to 5pm on September 2 for water mains works.

A diversion will run via Moor Lane, York Road and Howden Lane. Signs and barriers will show the restrictions, while access for residents and emergency vehicles will be maintained.
