A staple of one of York’s most historic streets is marking a huge milestone this month.
The much-loved independent retailer on Low Petergate, Fudge Kitchen York are celebrating 40 years of handcrafting artisan fudge and delighting visitors from around the world.
And to mark the occasion, the shop will be celebrating throughout their Birthday Weekend – Friday 28 to Monday 31 August – with birthday festivities, giveaways and, of course, plenty of free fudge samples.
Since opening its doors in 1986, Fudge Kitchen York has become a firm favourite in the city.
Known for its handcrafted fudge and live fudge-making demonstrations, the shop has welcomed generations of locals, tourists and families.
“Celebrating 40 years in York is an incredibly proud moment for everyone at Fudge Kitchen,” said Ian McCluskey, director for Fudge Kitchen.
“While we’re passionate about creating exceptional handmade confectionery, it’s our wonderful team who truly make the experience memorable.
“Their enthusiasm, personality and dedication have helped make the York shop a destination in its own right, welcoming customers back year after year.”
For forty years, visitors have gathered around the marble slab to watch fudge being expertly crafted by hand using traditional techniques.
