A JOURNEY into railway history is set to return to the tracks this summer.
Vintage Weekend returns to the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, promising a nostalgic experience with restored Victorian and Edwardian carriages pulled by steam locomotives.
The heritage event, taking place over the August Bank Holiday, invites visitors to travel in style through the Yorkshire countryside in carriages dating back more than a century.
Noel Hartley, business and operations manager at the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, said: "Vintage Weekend is always one of the highlights of our calendar because it brings together so many different aspects of Britain's railway heritage.
"Travelling in these beautifully restored historic carriages behind a steam locomotive is about as close as you can get to experiencing the golden age of rail travel.
"When you add live music, classic vehicles, and plenty happening around the railway, it creates a wonderful Bank Holiday day out for visitors of all ages."

The carriages, among the oldest passenger vehicles still operating in regular service, are maintained by dedicated volunteers and feature polished timber interiors, traditional upholstery, and elegant craftsmanship.
In addition to steam train rides, the weekend will include live entertainment, vintage vehicle displays, pop-up bars, and the launch of a new railway book, with opportunities to meet the author and get signed copies.
Visitors are encouraged to explore the stations along the line, enjoy the vintage vehicle displays, and relax with refreshments while soaking in the atmosphere of a bygone era.
The event aims to offer something for everyone, from railway enthusiasts and history lovers to families seeking a unique day out.
