Skipton artist Linda Mellin has created a one-off painting for Yorkshire Life’s 80th anniversary.
Her painting, ‘Yorkshire Life’, brings together landmarks from across the county, unlike her usual work focusing on individual towns.
An A4 print of the painting comes free with Yorkshire Life’s special anniversary edition.
A framed Collector’s Edition Giclée print, limited to 480 copies, will also be available. Yorkshire Life was first printed in 1946, after the Second World War.

Linda opened a new studio and gallery in Skipton earlier this year after winning the magazine’s Artist of the Year competition in 2017. The prize launched her commercial career, and her work is now widely seen and collected across Yorkshire.
The A4 print comes with Yorkshire Life’s September 80th anniversary edition, giving readers the chance to own Linda’s work.
It features Saltaire, Runswick Bay, Ilkley, Bradford, Whitby, Haworth and more.

Linda says: “Heritage, sheep, the wool industry, moorland, the green fields of Wharfedale, the arable land of the east, horse-racing, the coast, steelworks and industry. This is my Yorkshire.”
Yorkshire Life editor Kathryn Armstrong says: “80 years is a remarkable and proud anniversary for us, and we’re thrilled with Linda’s unique painting – it really celebrates the heritage of Yorkshire, which of course is what we have been doing for 80 years.”
Yorkshire Life is on sale now at newsagents and supermarkets across Yorkshire.
