A BRADFORD road will be closed for nearly two weeks for water works.

Moorside Place will be shut to its junction with Leeds Road from 8am on Monday, August 24.

The road will reopen at 6pm on Sunday, September 6.

The City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council has stated that the temporary traffic prohibition order is necessary to execute water works.

A spokesperson for the council said that pedestrian access will be maintained throughout the works.

However, only vehicles being used in connection with the works will be allowed to proceed on the affected section of the road.

For other vehicles, alternative routes are available via the unaffected section of Moorside Place, Scaley Street, Killinghall Road, and Leed Road.

The council has further noted that the closure can remain in force for up to 18 months if necessary, although it is anticipated to conclude within the specified period.
