The inaugural two-day event got under way today, attracting families and classic car enthusiasts from across the region.
The large crowds also prompted reports of traffic delays around the Great Yorkshire Showground, with visitors taking to Facebook to discuss congestion in the area.
However, inside the showground, there was a lively atmosphere as visitors explored hundreds of classic vehicles and watched live motoring action.
A major highlight of the opening day was the rally demonstration, with cars powering around the course and putting on an exciting display for the crowds.
Fans of Bangers & Cash have also had the chance to meet Derek, Paul and Dave Mathewson, whose family-run classic car business is based in Thornton-le-Dale.
The family are behind the popular TV series, which follows their work buying and selling classic vehicles.
Derek Mathewson said ahead of the event: “It's been fantastic to see the support we've had already and we can't wait to bring together so many vehicles, clubs and enthusiasts for what should be a brilliant weekend.”
The event features more than 700 classic vehicle displays, with everything from classic cars and motorbikes to rally cars on show.
There have also been live auctions of classic cars, bikes and motoring memorabilia, alongside displays from vehicle clubs and exhibitors.
Families made up a large part of the crowds, with children enjoying the vehicles and the action alongside classic car enthusiasts who had travelled to see the extensive collection on display. There were also children's rides and other entertainment for younger visitors
Away from the cars, visitors have been able to enjoy live music, artisan food trucks and licensed bars.
Mathewsons Live continues at the Great Yorkshire Showground tomorrow, Sunday, August 23, with the arena open from 9.30am to 5.30pm.
Free on-site parking is available, with the car park opening at 8am. Visitors are asked to leave the site by 7pm.
