Woman charged with attempted murder after 81-year-old found with serious injuries

Massie, of Church Road, Edlington, appeared before Barnsley Magistrates' Court on August 20 and has been remanded in custody ahead of her next appearance before Sheffield Crown Court on Monday August 24.

A woman has been charged with attempted murder after an 81-year-old man was found with serious injuries in Doncaster.

Jacqueline Massie, 53, was arrested by officers on Tuesday August 18 in connection with a reported assaulted inside a property on St John's Road that took place around 11.42am.

Officers attended and found an 81-year-old man with serious injuries.

He was taken to hospital where he remains at this time, South Yorkshire Police said.

After enquiries were conducted at the scene, Massie was arrested and has since been charged with attempted murder, theft in a dwelling and possessing an offensive weapon in a public place.
