Fans have spotted massive changes to the Christmas tub of Heroes chocolates.

With Christmas getting closer, many shops are starting to get their tubs of chocolates in, with shelves packed with Roses and Celebrations.

However, fans have noticed the Heroes tub looks a little different this year.

UK Newest Foods posted a photo of the new tub on Instagram, with many fans upset with the changes.

Cadbury makes changes to Heroes tub

The new tub was spotted being sold in B&M for £4.99 for a 500g box of the classic Cadbury chocolates.

The caption on the post said: “Cadbury Heroes Cardboard Tubs for Christmas 2026.

“First they were big metal tins, then they were plastic tubs, now they’re cardboard boxes and the smallest, yet most expensive they’ve ever been. £5 for 500g. “They’ve also removed the chocolate eclair and added flake.”

The tubs will now be made from cardboard and will contain chocolate bites, including Dairy Milk, Wispa, Twirl and Crunchie.

As part of a trial, many of the boxes will now have mini Flakes instead of the Cadbury Eclairs.

The change was trialled in a few tubs last year and has been rolled out again for 2026.

Some of the tubs will still have the Cadbury Eclairs in them.

Fans have taken to social media to share their thoughts on the new changes.

One person on Instagram wrote: “This is so sad…. “Bring back the nostalgic huge tin!!

“Life is so sad and minimal now.

“Bring back the Xmas of the 80s and 90s!”

Another person wrote: “Should have replaced it with a small version of Boost.

“Twirl and Flake are too similar, then you’ve got Wispa and Dairy Milk being boring as well.

“Oh well gives me reasons to avoid on top of the chocolate being terrible.”

Another commenter said: “It's not as fun when it's smaller.

“I love the Christmassy feeling or rummaging around in a huge tub of sweets!”

Other people are happy with the changes, with one person saying: “I’m not mad at the swap, I don’t mind an eclair but I love a flake!

“I’m not mad at a cardboard box over plastic either, I think we should go back to a tin though as it would always get used again in my house for homemade snack storage.”
