A York walkway is due to stay closed for another six months.
The riverside cut-through which links Ouse Bridge and North Street Gardens shut in January 2025 after structural defects were found.
It has been cut off ever since.
A public rights of way order preventing people using the path was due to run out on Saturday, 29 August.
But now a new order has been issued, preventing use of the walkway until 27 February, “or when the danger has been remedied, whichever is earlier”.
“This is necessary due to danger arising from a structural defect,” the order says.
There is no sign yet of any remedial work on the structure.
Originally blocked by fence panels, these were pushed out of the way as people kept using the route.
It’s now blocked by metal panels fixed in place by scaffolding poles.
City of York Council earmarked £130,000 for an assessment of the walkway. A report said the funding would help find a long-term solution to the walkway’s issues.
Potential works would then be considered at a later date.
