There’s disruption on the East Coast Main Line this morning (Friday, 21 August).
An attempted theft of signalling cables between Doncaster and Wakefield Westgate means trains have to run at reduced speed.
LNER is putting on rail replacement buses.
Disruption is expected until 10am. Here’s the full advice.
LNER customer advice:
Rail replacement has been requested to run between Doncaster, Wakefield and Leeds.
Northern customer advice:
Services between Doncaster and Wakefield Westgate are currently being disrupted due to an attempted theft of signalling cables.
Network Rail are currently on site.
How does this affect my journey?
Fewer trains are able to run between Doncaster and Adwick (in both directions).
Services on the following routes will be affected by this disruption:
- Sheffield and Adwick – Trains will be terminated and started back from Doncaster
- Doncaster and Leeds – Trains will run but may be subject to some delays.
Northern services between Sheffield and Leeds via Moorthorpe are not affected, and customers may use these services to help you complete your journey.
What should I do?
You can travel on the next Northern service to your destination, where available.
Northern train ticket restrictions have been lifted in the affected areas, including Advance and Peak restrictions, during this disruption. Restrictions will be reinstated once the disruption ends.
