Nominations will be followed by two rounds of voting. In the first round every business that has been nominated gets the chance to make it through to the second round.
The top six businesses (by vote count) then make it through to the second round before the winners are revealed at a live awards ceremony on Thursday 29 October at The Milner, York.

- Best Venue (Theatres, live music venues, wedding venues, conference centres etc)
- Best Event (Festivals, markets, one off events or short seasonal runs such as Halloween or Christmas venues)
- Best Independent Shop (For a locally based business within the retail environment)
- Best Customer Experience (For a business or individual who excels at providing the best customer journey)
- Best Professional Services Provider (Legal services, financial services, estate agents, marketing agencies etc)
- The Fix It Award (For trades, mechanics or others who fix things when they go wrong!)
- Best Wedding or Celebration service or supplier
- Travel provider of the year (Taxi and private hire providers, tour operators, coach companies etc)
- Best online offering (For locally based businesses with outstanding online products or services, or a website which aids their day to day business)
- Best Leisure Time Activity or Supplier (Acting groups, sports clubs/teams, dance groups, singing clubs and more!)
- Business Champion Award (Nominate someone who makes a difference in the wider business community)
