FURNITURE, artwork, ceramics and decorative furnishings from restaurant The Box Tree are set to be auctioned ahead of a £500,000 refurbishment programme this summer.
Nearly 70 lots from the renowned restaurant will be offered in Tennants Auctioneers' Antiques and Interiors Sale on September 4.
The items will be available to view online and at the auction house's Leyburn salerooms before the sale.
Among the highlights are an 18th-century carved oak settle dated 1725, estimated at £600 to £800, and a 19th-century carved oak box settle, guided at £500 to £700.

Other notable lots include a pair of Chinoiserie parcel-gilt red lacquer lamp tables and an 18th-century British School painting, Portrait of a Scholar or Clergyman, estimated at £300 to £500.

The sale will also feature a variety of decorative pieces, ranging from a life-size model of a macaw parrot to modern table lamps, copperware and Herend porcelain ducks.
Historic restaurant
The Box Tree occupies one of Ilkley's oldest buildings, a farmhouse dating back to 1720.
The property became known as Box Tree House in the late 19th century when businessman Septimus Wray planted the distinctive box trees that still give the restaurant its name. Over the years, the building has served as both an antiques shop and a tearoom.
The restaurant was established in 1962 by Malcolm Reid and Colin Long and quickly earned a reputation as one of the North's leading dining destinations.

Throughout its history, acclaimed chefs including Michael Truelove, Edward Denny and Marco Pierre White have helped shape its menus and reputation.
Today, The Box Tree remains listed in the Michelin Guide under the leadership of head chef Brayden Davies.
The auction items will be on public view at Tennants' Leyburn salerooms on September 2 and 3. A fully illustrated catalogue will also be available via the auctioneer's website at www.tennants.co.uk.
