A TEENAGE driver who had held his licence for just eight months is facing court after police caught him driving at 115mph on a Bradford district road.
The 17-year-old was stopped by West Yorkshire Police on the A629 bypass in Keighley while driving the Audi, which officers said had been borrowed from a friend, with three passengers aged 17 and 18 on board.
Officers also discovered he was uninsured.
Police say the stop may have prevented a potentially devastating crash.
The Audi RS4, was seen travelling at almost twice the speed limit when it was intercepted on the bypass.
Sharing details of the stop, officers said: "We may well have saved several lives following this stop."
The force added that its proactive patrols in the area prevented what could have been a far more serious outcome.

On social media, a spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: "We may well have saved several lives following this stop.
"Here we have an Audi RS4, borrowed from a friend and driven at 115 mph on the A629 bypass West Yorkshire Police - Keighley containing four males all aged 17 & 18 years.
"The driver was 17 years old and had held his licence for just 8 months. He was also uninsured."
