A ROAD in Wyke will be temporarily closed for electrical works.

Beverley Drive will be shut from outside No. 6 Beverley Drive to outside No. 12 Beverley Drive.

The closure will start on September 1 at 7am and is expected to finish at 6pm the same day.

The City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council gave notice under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, Section 14, of its intention to make an order.

Bradford council has stated that vehicles involved in the works will be exempt from the prohibition.

Pedestrian access will not be affected.

No alternative routes for vehicles have been provided.

Although the closure is expected to last only one day, the order allows it to remain in place for up to 18 months if necessary.

The council announced the proposed temporary road closure on August 20. The works are being carried out on or near Beverley Drive.

The Director of Legal and Governance, Legal and Democratic Services, at City Hall, Bradford, issued the notice.
