Search the Public Notice Portal A NEW car dealership has opened in Bradford after highways officers signed off on conditions to prevent it causing traffic issues.
Plans to turn the former Uriah Woodhead building on Canal Road into a car showroom selling the Chery, Omoda and Jaecoo brands were approved in June.
Conditions of the approval were that access to and from the site for pedestrians and vehicles be clearly laid out before the unit comes into operation.
Another called for clear signage to inform HGVs how to exit the site.
Those conditions have this week been signed off by Highways Officers at Bradford Council.
The planning application said the showroom would create 24 jobs.
This week has also seen an advertising consent application for the new signage at the building submitted to Bradford Council.
The site of the showroom had been empty since then operators Huws Grey closed in March 2025.
Huws Grey had taken over Uriah Woodhead in 2020, and before that the independent building warehouse had operated since 1866.
