A petrol bomb was thrown at a home in a "targeted" arson attack.
Cleveland Police were called to Stranton Street in Thornaby at around 11.50pm on Wednesday, August 19.
It was reported that the windows of the property had been smashed and a petrol bomb was thrown at the door.
Chief Inspector Chris Pringle from Stockton CID said: "Whilst we do believe at this stage this was a targeted incident, extensive enquiries are ongoing to establish exactly what happened.
"There will continue to be a visible police presence in the area, and I’d encourage anyone with any concerns to please speak to our officers."
No injuries were reported, but the force is appealing for information from the public.
