A County Durham woman has been handed a 100-hour unpaid work order harassing another woman by repeatedly sending her unwanted messages.
Lynn Brown, of Portland Avenue, Seaham, was convicted at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates’ Court on July 20.
The court found that, between March 16 and June 30, 2025, Brown harassed the woman by sending unwanted messages and visiting her address.
Brown denied the allegations but was found guilty after a trial.
She was given a community order ending August 17, 2027, requiring her to complete 100 hours of unpaid work.

The court also imposed a restraining order until August 17, 2028, banning Brown from contacting the named woman directly or indirectly, and from entering a specified street.
If the two meet by chance, Brown must leave the area.
Brown was ordered to pay £650 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service and a £114 victim surcharge, to be collected by benefit deductions.
