Harrogate school where 'students of all abilities excel academically'

Students, staff and families at St John Fisher Catholic Academy in Harrogate are once again celebrating an outstanding set of GCSE results.

The school has maintained its consistently high standards of achievement at GCSE this year with 83% of students achieving a Grade 4 or above in both English and Mathematics.

St John Fisher Catholic Academy’s Headteacher, Steve Mort, praised the students for their hard work and commitment to their studies.

“It is a privilege to work with young people who have such high aspirations,” he said.

"It is wonderful to see students of all abilities excelling academically as well as witnessing their spiritual and personal growth during their time with us.

"I would like to thank our families for working in partnership with the school throughout the past five years which has contributed significantly to students securing these fantastic outcomes.

"My thanks also to our dedicated teaching and support staff who have worked incredibly hard to support our students’ development and to prepare them to progress on to their post-16 studies.

"We look forward to welcoming many students back into our Associated Sixth Form, which this year has achieved another exceptional set of results.

"For those students who are moving on to other post-16 establishments, we wish them the very best for the future.”

Founded in 1958 on the old Harrogate High School campus St John Fisher Catholic Academy, previously known as St John Fisher Catholic High School, relocated to its current 22-acre site on Hookstone Drive in 1973.
